How much does an accountant cost for an LLC or limited company in Switzerland?
Our plans start at CHF 119 excl. VAT per month for a company not registered for VAT, or CHF 139 excl. VAT per month including VAT management. Your quote takes account of document volume, bank accounts, currencies and complexity. Year-end closing, annual financial statements and the company tax return are included. Payroll and any handover or catch-up work are quoted separately.
Can a small LLC or limited company use simplified accounting?
No. An LLC or limited company must keep full accounts and prepare annual financial statements under the Swiss Code of Obligations, even with low turnover. The simplified rules available to some sole proprietors do not apply to these companies. We organise your accounting around the applicable Swiss accounting requirements.
Are year-end closing and the tax return included?
Yes. Year-end closing, annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and notes) and your company’s tax return are included in both plans, with or without VAT management. Personal services for members or shareholders, such as private tax returns, are covered by a separate scope if required. You know the work included and the fees before committing.
Is my LLC or limited company automatically liable for VAT?
No. Legal structure alone does not determine VAT liability. Relevant turnover, the nature of your supplies and applicable exceptions must be considered. Voluntary registration may also be possible. We review your company’s circumstances before recommending a plan and the VAT returns to manage. Our guide to Swiss VAT explains the general rules.
Can I change accountants during the year?
Yes. We review your latest accounts, available documents, VAT returns already filed and upcoming deadlines. With your authorisation, we arrange the transfer of records while taking your existing contract into account. Your quote sets out the handover schedule and any catch-up work.
How do we share documents and work with our existing software?
We review your software and the tasks your team will keep. Each month, you provide invoices, receipts, bank statements and relevant payroll information. We agree a document-sharing method and flag missing records. A quoting and QR invoicing tool is included; any migrations or integrations are specified in your quote.
Can you also manage our company’s payroll?
Yes. Payroll can be added to your accounting engagement. We define the services needed for your headcount and organisation, then quote them separately. This helps coordinate payroll data with your accounts. See our payroll and social insurance service.
Who handles the accounts: Entreprendre.ch or Karpeo?
The accounting and tax services described here are delivered by Karpeo, our Geneva accounting firm, under the supervision of Sarah and Romain Prieur. Entreprendre.ch supports entrepreneurs with company formation and development. You can appoint Karpeo even if your company was formed elsewhere.
